Costco Wholesale x Mastercard Priceless Prize Draw Full Terms and Conditions

  1. This promotion is only open to UK residents who are aged 18 or over and hold a valid Mastercard issued by a UK financial institution. Anyone employed by Costco Wholesale UK or Mastercard, their families (parents, children, siblings, spouse and life partners) and professionally connected to this promotion are not allowed to enter.
  2. You will need to make a purchase by checking out directly with a valid Mastercard, (i.e. payment made using digital wallets such as ApplePay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, PayPal will not count) to take part in this promotion. You will also need to have access to the internet in order to enter.
  3. Promotion Period: Purchase & enter between 00.01 GMT on 11 November 2024 and 23.59 GMT on 02 December 2024 inclusive.
  4. To Enter: Visit www.costco.co.uk during the Promotion Period and purchase any product using your Mastercard directly at the checkout, then enter your details (name, email address matching your online account and phone number) on the entry page: https://www.costco.co.uk/mastercard-competition to be entered into the Prize Draw.
    • You may only enter once during the Promotion Period. Only 1 entry per member will be considered.
  5. The Prizes:
    • Prize: There will be a total of 1 winner. The winner will win:
      • Two-night hotel accommodation at Shangri-La The Shard Hotel (one room, double occupancy), including breakfast, for the winner and 1 guest
      • 2 x tickets to The View from The Shard VIP Tour
      • An evening Korean barbecue dinner at Chung’dam, Soho, London for the winner and 1 guest, to the value of £300 (inclusive of service charge)
      • An evening dinner at one of The Shard restaurants, for the winner and 1 guest, to the value of £400 (inclusive of service charge)
      • Return travel to London from one UK address
      • Return car transfers to Chung’dam from the hotel
      • £250 Mastercard prepaid card for the winner and 1 guest (1x £250 prepaid card each)
    • Prize Details and Conditions:
      • The winner and their guest must be 18 or over. The email address used to enter the prize draw must be the same as the email address linked with your online account.
      • The Prize includes accommodation on a B&B basis at Shangri-La The Shard Hotel, subject to availability and Mastercard’s discretion.
      • Prize package (and associated tickets) are personal to the winner and the sale or offering for sale, transfer, resale, donation, or exchange of any tickets and/or part of any of the prize packages is strictly prohibited (including, without limitation, in person or online via an online auction website or online ticket resale marketplace). Costco Wholesale reserves the right to cancel tickets and withdraw or make void any and all prize elements if this term is not complied with.
      • Prize package (and associated tickets) are as stated and nothing else is included. There is no cash or other alternative for the Prize in whole or in part.
      • The winner and their guest acknowledge and agree that they are subject to the full terms and conditions of the tickets which form part of their prize, which can be viewed at The View from The Shard https://www.theviewfromtheshard.com/terms-and-conditions/ (“Ticket Terms and Conditions”). The Ticket Terms and Conditions are subject to change from time to time and may include the requirement for ticket holders to present valid photo ID (passport or driving license) and/or other forms of identification (such as a debit or credit card) upon entry to the Event to ensure that the ticket holder is the same as the person named on their ticket.
      • Tickets are personal to the winner and the sale or offering for sale, transfer, resale, donation, or exchange of any tickets is strictly prohibited (including, without limitation, in person or online via an online auction website or online ticket resale marketplace). Failure to comply with any of the Ticket Terms and Conditions may result in refused entry, or the ticket holders being required to leave the Event.
      • The winner and their guest acknowledge and agree that they are subject to the full terms and conditions of The Shard and Chung’dam (Venues), which can be viewed on the Venues’ websites, and the Venues reserve the right to remove any person or refuse any person entry to The View from The Shard VIP Tour, The Shard restaurants and Chung’dam with Mastercard regardless of whether they have a valid ticket. If a ticket is declared void or if a ticket holder is refused admission or removed from the Event because of a breach or suspected of the Ticket Terms and Conditions or breach or suspected of the terms and conditions of the Venue, no money shall be refunded.
      • Costco Wholesale, its agents, Mastercard, Shangri-La The Shard hotel, The Shard and Chung’dam do not accept and are released from, any liability for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the Promotion or as a result of accepting a prize or any element of a prize. Insofar as is permitted by law, Costco Wholesale, its agents, Mastercard, Shangri-La The Shard Hotel, The Shard and Chung’dam are not liable or responsible for any injury, loss or damage to persons or property arising from or caused by the weather, acts of God, war, accident, pandemic or epidemic and any related government action or any other government restrictions or regulations, or from an act or omission of any individual or condition beyond its control.
      • If for any reason the weekend prize doesn’t go ahead as planned, e.g. because it has been cancelled or any other cause beyond our control which affects the running or conduct of this promotion, we may in our sole discretion cancel the prize and will not re-award any additional tickets to the winner or reimburse any incurred expenses by the winner as a result of winning or accepting the prize.
      • Mastercard will pay the cost of the standard room plus related room taxes.
      • The winner’s full name, contact number and email address will be shared with Mastercard’s service provider The Big Group Limited for the purposes of fulfilling the prize. A copy of their Privacy Policy is available here www.biggroup.co.uk/privacy.
      • Tickets, travel, dinners, Mastercard prepaid cards and hotel accommodation are courtesy of Mastercard.
      • For the avoidance of doubt, the prize does not include additional food, beverages, souvenirs or any other costs of a personal nature (including spending money) that are not expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions and neither Costco Wholesale nor any provider of any part of the Prize will be responsible for any such costs.
      • At all times, Costco Wholesale will have the discretion as to how to implement the prize fulfilment.
      • It is the responsibility of the winner to ensure they and their guest behave in a proper manner. You are responsible for the way you behave and how your guests behave whilst taking the Prize. We reserve the right in our absolute discretion to exclude you and/or your guests from taking part in any aspect of the Prize if you or your guests don’t comply with our directions or anyone we work with or the winner and/or guest act in a manner that is dangerous to themselves or to the public or is, in our opinion, anti-social in any manner or which causes a disturbance or nuisance to others. Failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions may result in refused entry, or the ticket holders being required to leave the event/venue.
      • Winners are liable for any damage they and/or their guests cause to any part of the Prize.
      • Failure to comply with any of the applicable Terms and Conditions may result in the withdrawal of the Prize, at Costco Wholesale, Mastercard and/or Big Group’s discretion.
      • The View from The Shard experience includes fast track security, private lift access, an expert guided tour, free guidebook, digital photos and a glass of champagne upon arrival.
      • The Chung’dam dinner includes a meal and beverage(s) of your choice, up to £300 inclusive of service charge.
  6. Winner Selection: One main provisional winner will be selected, alongside 2 reserves. The draw will take place within 10 working days of the end of the Promotion Period.
  7. Contacting the Winners: Costco Wholesale will contact the first provisional winner via the email address and phone number provided on entry within 5 working days of Winner Selection and they will be asked to provide evidence of identity and eligibility. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winner. Once eligibility has been confirmed, the provisional winner will be confirmed as a winner. If a provisional winner does not respond to the initial contact within 5 days, we reserve the right to disqualify that entrant and award the prize to a reserve selected in the same manner. Reserve winners may have less time to respond.
  8. Prize Acceptance: Notification to arrange fulfilment of a prize will take place within 5 days of acceptance of the prize. In the unlikely event that a winner has not received communication to arrange their prize, the winner must inform us by emailing ecommarketing@costco.co.uk. If you don’t let us know within this time frame, we will reserve the right to not reissue the prize or limit its value at our sole discretion.
  9. Moderation: We can’t accept any entries which we think:
    1. Contain any content that is likely to be considered offensive by us or could reflect negatively the name, reputation, or goodwill of Costco Wholesale;
    2. Include trademarks, logos, or copyrighted material not owned by you or used without the right holder's prior written permission (including famous names, company names, etc.);
    3. Defames, misrepresents, or insults other people or companies, including, but not limited to Costco Wholesale; or
    4. Promotes any political agenda.
  10. Provided no objection is received from the winner, we’ll make a winner list containing the surname and county of residence of the winner available 4 weeks after the close of the Promotion Period, for a period of 8 weeks. It will be available on https://www.costco.co.uk/mastercard-competition . Winners can object to their details being published during the Winner Notification process; however, we will provide winner information to the Advertising Standards Authority when requested by them.
  11. The Prize cannot be transferred to someone else or exchanged for a cash alternative.
  12. If, for reasons we can’t control, part of the prize is no longer available, we’ll offer you an alternative prize which we hope you’ll still love but which will definitely be of equal or greater value.

Data Privacy: Any personal data and it will be held in accordance with our Privacy Policy here: https://www.costco.co.uk/privacy-policy and will be used for the purposes of this promotion and for research and analytical purposes. We will only share your data with our fulfilment Partners for the purposes of fulfilling this promotion.
  14. We seek to run fair and secure promotions and prevent abuse and cheating. If you enter in a way that is not consistent with these Terms & Conditions, your entries (and any of your associated aliases) will be disqualified, any prize awarded may be void and recoverable, and we reserve the right to bar you from entering future promotions of ours for a period of at least six months. For this reason, we reserve the right at any point to:
    • Verify the eligibility of entrants and/or provisional winners through multiple means by requesting such information we consider reasonably necessary for this purpose. Entry or a prize may be withheld unless and until verification is completed satisfactorily.
    • Disqualify entries that are not made directly by the individual entering the Promotion.
    • Disqualify entries made using anonymous email services such as, but not limited to, GuerillaMail, Dispostable or Mailinator.
    • Disqualify bulk entries from individuals, trade, consumer groups or third parties, incomplete entries and entries submitted by macros or other automated means.
    • Disqualify entries using techniques such as ‘script’, ‘brute force’, masking identity by manipulating IP addresses, using aliases or identities other than their own or any other means.
    • Disqualify entrants who tamper with the entry process.
    • Disqualify entries which, in some other way, do not fully meet the requirements of these Terms & Conditions.
    • Cancel, modify or suspend the Promotion should it not be capable of running as planned for reasons including but not limited to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, dishonesty, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Costco Wholesale which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion.
  15. No responsibility can be taken for entries which are lost, delayed, corrupted, damaged, misdirected or incomplete or which cannot be delivered for any technical, delivery or other reason. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
  16. We and our associated agencies and companies are not liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this Promotion or accepting or using the/a prize(s), except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. Nothing will exclude the Promoter's liability for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence.
  17. We won’t be liable for any delay or failure to comply with its obligations for reasons beyond its reasonable control arising from but not limited to Acts of God, global or regional epidemics or pandemics, adverse weather conditions, fire, industrial disputes, war, terrorist activity, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, plague or other natural calamities, or any other circumstances.
  18. If any part/s of these Terms & Conditions are legally ruled to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the remainder will not be affected and will continue in full force and effect.
  19. By entering, you will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
  20. If there is a discrepancy between these Terms & Conditions and those in any promotional material, these Terms & Conditions will prevail.
  21. These Terms & Conditions are governed by English law and their interpretation and application will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Residents of Scotland and Northern Ireland may bring proceedings in their own jurisdiction.
