Quality Materials & Design

The Basebox by Green Retreats offers a premium yet cost-effective garden room solution, built from carefully selected materials known for their strength, durability, and style. Every component, from the strong framework to the weather-resistant cladding, is chosen to ensure lasting quality.

Doors and Windows

The doors and windows for the Basebox range are very strong steel-reinforced uPVC in a stylish graphite woodgrain finish. The locks on the doors and windows are insurance-grade multi-locks, keeping your building and its contents safe and secure. 

Glazing

All windows and doors are fitted with Pilkington K Optiwhite extra-clear double glazing. This advanced glazing features hard-coated, low-e, argon-filled glass with a Planitherm layer and Swisspacer, ensuring excellent insulation and energy efficiency.

Walls

Our wall sections are crafted in-house using innovative eco-friendly materials. They feature a 9mm thick white MDF board with 75mm thick eco-polymer foam insulation for excellent energy efficiency. The exterior cladding is made from a treated recycled composite, sourced from sawdust in the milling industry, which is primed to resist rot and decay. Please note: the exterior cladding of this design will require painting to seal it within the first 6 months, which is a great opportunity to personalise your building to suit your style.

Flooring

The Basebox subflooring is elevated above ground level to prevent rising damp and promote air circulation. The flooring itself is a dense 80mm polyurethane insulation, supported by a 1mm powder-coated steel layer on both the top and bottom, protecting the flooring from all weather conditions and keeping it exceptionally strong.

Roofing

The roof is constructed with a thick 80mm insulated steel panel, reinforced with a 1mm powder-coated steel layer. For added strength, a 0.5mm galvanised steel sheet reinforces the panel. The roof's slightly sloped design allows for effective water runoff to the rear guttering system and downpipe.

Guttering

Our 4-inch wide guttering system effectively manages excess water flow, helping to protect the building structure.

Eco-Friendly

Green Retreats is proud to be an eco-friendly and carbon-neutral company. Basebox uses some of the latest in eco-friendly construction materials, while also following the strict Green Retreats eco-principles. All buildings from Green Retreats are designed and built in our solar powered UK factory, and 5 trees are planted for every 1 used in the construction of our buildings.
