Glenmorangie A Tale of Ice Cream Whisky, 70cl

For the director of whisky creation, Dr Bill and his sweet tooth, ice cream is the one indulgence he cannot resist. Captured by the elegant pleasures of his favourite ice cream parlour, he imagined whisky piled high with decadence and lavish swirls of flavour. With an ice cream menu on his mind, he aged Glenmorangie in high vanillin Bourbon casks to bring the whisky's richest creamiest side to its tantalising best. One sip of his creation is like sinking your spoon into a carousel of flavour. Peach melba melts into honeycomb, Lemon sorbet trickles through brioche layers and shavings of marzipan. Coconut flakes and fudge chunks are scattered on top, drizzled with toffee-apple sauce. A delicious extravagant treat.

Tasting Notes:

Bronze in colour, a burst of manuka honey on the nose, with lemon-flavoured butter candy. Notes of candied orange peel, peaches, toffee and a hint of spice are also present. With a splash of water, there is vanilla crème anglaise, a hint of coconut and a suggestion of almond marzipan. The texture on the palate is thick, rich and creamy. With both sweet and spicy notes, flavours of brioche, almond marzipan, honeycomb, fudge, lemon sherbet and desiccated coconut are warmed up with the spices of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and clove. The finish is long with sweet notes of popcorn and toffee apple and a touch of aniseed.
