The vineyard of Château Branaire Ducru based in Saint Julien extends over 60 hectares with vines of an average age of 35 years. The estate is planted with primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, combined with a small amount of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc producing a classic St Julien style. This wine is a blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc.
Tasting Notes:
“Firm tannins, medium intensity colour, austere tannins, but a lovely depth to the cassis and blueberry fruit, balanced and finessed with deft and confident control exerted by the tannic architecture. As it opens a seductive creaminess arrives with blackberry, tobacco and grilled sandalwood oak. Great St Julien balance.” Score: 93 - Jane Anson, JaneAnson.com, January 2023
Serving Suggestions:
Pairs well with all classic meat dishes, fish and Asian dishes.
