Chateau Brane-Cantenac spans across 72 hectares in AOC Margaux with 30 hectares planted on the “Terrasse” n°4, on the quaternary era-deep gravels. The vineyards consist of a variety of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 0.5% Petit Verdot and 0.5% Carmenere with an average vine age of 35 years. This wine is a blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Camenere. Ageing took place for 18 months in French oak barrels, 100% new.
Tasting Notes:
“One of the few with violet reflections to the ruby colour, with austerity and cool vintage expression of blueberry and raspberry fruits, well defined and sculpted, good juice and lift, impressive purity and power, with a sandalwood swirl of 100% new oak for ageing.” - Score 94 - Jane Anson, JaneAnson.com, December 2023
Serving Suggestions:
Pairs well with charcuterie, red & white meat, barbeque and cheese platters.
